Deepawali Experience

First of all lemme wish all my friends a Very Happy Diwali & a Prosperous New Year.

Diwali - Festival of lights. Brings brightness & cheerfulness in a persons life. People burst crackers out of happiness (at times show off) , women at home do rangoli , diya's are lit to welcome Goddess Laxmi (but vth changing tresnd lights are put up for decoration - loss of asthetics alas!! )

But what about the people who are forbidden from it? Who doesnt want all the beautiful things of life? What about those deprived? By not lighting diya's wouldnt Goddes Laxmi enter?

Anywaz, dont wanna discuss this here. Just wanted to share a small lil experience that i happen to have this Diwali.

I was too excited for this Diwali (dunno for wht reason). Woke up early and made rangoli for all the days. Lit up diya's. But didnt burst crackers for quiet few but imp reasons. But this time i was too excited to see people bursting crackers esp whn the crackers emitted light.

A new building has come up besides our building. And on other side of my building , there is a slum area. In that building (new), a well to do family stays. The family is of husband wife (somewhr in 50's) and son (20's) and daughter. On Dhanteras night , the family got down to burst crackers. As soon as they started bursting , most of the building kids (4yrs - early teenagers) came down & joined them in bursting their own crackers (both noisy & light ones). I was delighted to see the kids being so happy and recollected my childhood days - the fun , masti we kids used to do.

After a few minutes , the kids from the slum gathered to see the crackers being burst. They were getting soooooo delighted & were enjoying sooo much that a very different angelic smiles was seen on their face. A smile that rarely comes in misery , a smile full of joy , full of life , full of wishes (unfulfilled)

The son from tht well to do family shared his crackers with the kids of the slum !! What a generous act i must say. The joy on the faces of the kids reached no bounds. Jumping & Laughing & giggling & playing , they burst the crackers with that rich guy. (he is rich coz he owns 3 cars !! )
I just imagined what a man he is !! He gave joy to deprived kids & gave them such a beautiful gift (unasked). The sight was just amazing. I myself am following short of words , but i hope you guys understand the meaning behind all this.

I happen to share this incident first vth my mumma. She said that the guy did a very good act coz giving joy to the deprived kids is really good. Not all have that big heart , not all do it selflessly , not all are generous. So true my mumma happn to say. Its a 'punya' that you gain by doing such gud deeds without any selfish act.

One promise i happn to make to myself this Diwali. Although i dnt burst crackers , but its not that all dont do it. Lot of people (esp kids) enjoy them. In future when i earn i would give this joy to the deprived kids. Share my joy vth them & make them feel the real Diwali.

Deepawali laaye khushiyan sab ke ghar ,
badha sakte hai hum woh khushiyan ,
ektrit ho kar hum sab.

really dunno wht did i write last up there. but real diwali is when you share & spread love and bring smile & joy on every ones face.

well ... thats how diwali should be spent ... i personally belive that rather than spending money in temples, etc we should so something for the poor ... and needy ... and well Its worth making people smile ... its very easy to make people cry but to make them smile is very tough :) and one should aim for that only ... will tell u wht i did whn we talk ;)
